About the card:
The siege of Breisach was part of the Thirty-Years War, and ended on December 17, 1638 with the surrender of the Imperial garrison within Breisach to the French forces commanded by Bernard of Saxe-Weimar.
The German painter Christian Sell began his career painting scenes from the 17th century. After participating in the wars of 1864, 1866 and 1870, he began painting contemporary military themes.
The flavor text is attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte, commenting on the idea that large conflicts could be avoided if only nations would quickly resolve smaller spats.
